Microneedling

31

SAFE FOR ALL SKIN TYPES WITH VERY LOW DOWNTIME.

Over-the-counter skincare products aren’t always enough to restore skin sufficiently. An innovative skin rejuvenation treatment, microneedling is a biostimulatory technique of collagen induction therapy. Microneedling significantly improves the appearance of sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and even stretch marks by resurfacing the top layer of the skin.

At Trillium Med Spa, we use DermaPen for all of our microneedling treatments. This technology is a safe and effective, FDA approved, method to refresh the skin. For best results, it should be done monthly. It can be complemented with exosomes, PRP, and other topical therapies for maximum results.

BENEFITS

  • Improves fine lines & wrinkles.
  • Treats uneven skin tone.
  • Firms & tightens skin.
  • Scar reduction.
  • Helps reduce appearance of stretch marks.
  • Reduces enlarged / visible pores.
  • Helps skin products penetrate and be more effective.

HOW MICRONEEDLING WORKS

It creates thousands of microchannels that stimulate your body’s natural wound healing process, while minimizing cellular damage. This rejuvenates your skin from the inside out. The result is effective remodeling of scar tissue, while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact

There are three phases to the wound-repair process with microneedling

PHASE I: INFLAMMATION

Piercing the skin triggers your immune system to cleanse the wound, remove debris, increase blood flow and begin to create new tissue.

PHASE II: PROLIFERATION

The wound is rebuilt with new granulation cells, which are part of the extracellular matrix. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.

PHASE III: REMODELING

The wound is replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A single session can be completed in as little as 20 or 30 minutes.

After a microneedling treatment session, you can go as long as six months to a year before coming back for another treatment to maintain the results.

Microneedling can make topical products that are applied to the skin more effective by allowing for deeper infiltration. This will allow the products to penetrate deeper into the skin’s layers so that they can improve skin quality even more. Talk to your clinical skin care specialist about adding topical biostimulators, including exosomes, after microneedling.

We take every precaution necessary to ensure that no one’s health is put at risk with this treatment. Don’t put on makeup, especially with a makeup brush that has been used before, in the 24 hours following microneedling. You’ll also need to avoid swimming pools, saunas, and situations where you might sweat heavily, including intense workouts at the gym, to protect your newly treated skin.

Effective combinations for skin rejuvenation and acne control include: cosmetic fillers, injectable wrinkle relaxers (i.e. Botox), and AviClear. Customized combination therapy can be discussed during your consultation.

Chemical peels are usually very gentle and create a temporary sensation of tingling (activity) or warm flushing to the skin during application. Your skin may be pink for several hours after a treatment and you may experience some tightening of the skin, which may last for several days.

Typically you may return to work right after the peel. The amount of peeling, if any, varies from person to person. You may see light to medium flaking by two or three days after the treatment. Depending on the type of peel, flaking up may last up to five or six days, while some clients may
experience very little peeling.
